Abstract
Abstract—The phenomenal increase in the investment on wind power in India shows the significance of wind power. The wind power generation has become one of the prime non-conventional bulk power sources in recent times. Though the harvestable energy from the wind primarily depends on the wind resource assessment, the transmission system and grid profile also decide the harvestable energy from the wind power generating stations. Among the various available types of generators, the Synchronous Generator based wind turbines offer superior control characteristics due to the presence of power electronic converters. In this paper, an attempt has been made to analyze the performance of a grid connected Synchronous Generator based wind turbine in terms of its voltage profile and harvestable energy for the given wind conditions. The MATLAB SIMULINK is used for the simulation of the wind energy conversion system. A case study of an actual wind...
