Abstract
In recent decades there has been a rapidly growing demand for high quality, uninterrupted power. In light of this fact, this paper has addressed a control strategy to ensure high performance level in inverter fed power systems. The main problem associated with inverter is its very high total harmonic distortion especially when feeding a nonlinear load. A control algorithm employing composite observers is presented, which will improve the THD (total harmonic distortion) as well as control the output voltage of the inverter in DQ synchronous frame. This control algorithm regulates the output voltage, even if there are input or load disturbances, with good dynamic response and zero steady state error. The composite observer estimates odd harmonics up to 9th and is fed back with a gain to improve the THD of output voltage to almost 2%. The filter drop due to harmonic current is one of the reasons for the distortion in output voltage. The ...
