Controller Design for Improved Switched Inductor (SL) Z-Source Inverter for Photovoltiac Applications

Abstract
this paper presents an improved SL Z-source inverter topology for photovoltaic. Because of the limitation of the classical Z-source inverter, the SL Z-source inverter has been proposed to increase the voltage gain. With improved SL Z-source inverter topology, the capacitor voltage stress can be reduced. A PI controller is designed to control the AC-side and the DC-side of the SL Z-source inverter in order to get the required output voltage. The system is digitally simulated using the Matlab/Simulink/Sim-Power Software Environment and fully validated for efficient conversion system. Index Terms— Switched inductor, Z-source, boost ability, PWM, PI controller, grid-connected photovoltaic.Â
