Abstract
A phase shift full bridge (PSFB) converter with voltage doubler for renewable energy applications is proposed. The alternative energy sources can’t be used as such as they provide un-regulated electric power. Considering the demand that the output voltage is higher than the input voltage in Renewable energy systems, the voltage-doubler is added to achieve higher voltage gain compared with traditional PSFB converter. The phase shift converter operating at frequency as high as 20-25 kHz to improve the power density of the converter using unity turns ratio in the isolation transformer. This paper also presents a comparison of conventional phase shifted full bridge DC-DC converter with the proposed converter. The given comparison and discussion is suitable for a front end DC-DC converter for renewable energy applications. The transformer size and efficiency of the converter are compared. The proposed converter is simulated using Pspice ...
