A New Approach for Wind Speed Behavior Prediction

Abstract
This paper presents a new wind speed prediction method for analysis and modelling of wind speed’s behaviour. Wind speed is first modelled considering superposition of mean speed and turbulence components. Then, the effect of the rotor of wind turbine as a LPSF is studied. This procedure could be implemented on a wind turbine simulator on account of numerical and experimental results. To verify the proposed approaches, the obtained model is applied to the wind turbine, then all the procedure is simulated using MATLAB Software package. The obtained result confirms the effectiveness of the proposed modelling and analysis approaches. Keywords: LPSF, power spectral density, shaping filter, turbulence component, wind modelling
