Abstract
In this paper, exergy loss factors in a solar still are investigated .In the first step, energy analysis of the system is performed in order to obtain the equations which give the system parameters such as glass cover temperature, absorber plate temperature, the temperature of the pool water and fresh water production rate. In the second step, exergy analysis of the system is performed in order to obtain exergy components of the system, exergy efficiency of the system and dimensionless exergy fraction. In the last step a computer simulation program is developed based on energy and exergy analysis. It has been validated with previous experimental data. Finally, exergy loss components and exergy dimensionless fractions were calculated. It is shown that the largest exergy loss occurs in the absorber plate and the maximum of exergy fractions is for evaporation exergy fraction. exergy efficiency of solar still is very low because the quali...
