Abstract
Abstract- since constructing and protecting dams is expensive it is crucial to manage the water in the reservoir in such a manner that the dam water is exploited properly and the dam will be kept safe in times of flood. Therefore determining the dimensions of the gates is of special importance. Determining the dimensions properly will increase the volume of the reserved water as well as controlling the dangerous floods in such a manner that the flood passes the weirs and bottom gates without damaging the dam and the downstream environment. Not being careful with determining the geometrical properties of the gates will result in water overflowing from the dam or a large part of the water which must be served in the reservoir and be used will pass through the gates and these are both against the objectives of building a dam.The geometrical location of the equilibrium point of the input and output discharge has been specified in this art...
