Abstract
Vegetables are high value crops capable of ensuring adequate nutrition and food supply to meet the demand of the increasing population. This study analysed the poverty level of subsistence waterleaf producers in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Through the multistage sampling method, sixty waterleaf producers were selected and primary data were obtained using questionnaire. Results show that sex and marital status of household heads were significant (P<0.05) whereas dependency ratio and educational level of household heads were directly and inversely significant respectively (P<0.01). Findings further revealed that the literacy rate was moderate as farmers acquired considerable level of education and were within active population.
