Abstract
The requirements for constructing an observation network are given, the accuracy and frequency of observations are assessed, and a methodology for using the GeoMoS automated monitoring system to monitor deformations of the quarry walls is developed. Schemes for oversloping benches in the zone of residual deformations and a method for increasing the stability of quarry sides by forming a concave slope profile of a high bench have been developed and industrially tested.
