Abstract This paper is an analysis of virtual learning environments in secondary education. The objective is to expose the challenges, scope, and limitations that have been found in the construction and execution of virtual courses in secondary education in Costa Rica to understand the pedagogical interactions carried out in CONED. Virtualization in CONED, as distance education model, was born as part of the virtualization initiatives carried out by the State Distance University (UNED). Since its implementation, significant growth has been seen, since it began with an enrollment of 74 students by the year 2021 there was an enrollment of 6,639.
