Abstract This study exposes the generated consequences in the educational process of the students enrolled in the second semester in different degrees of the Faculty of Philosophy, Arts and Sciences of the Education of the University Central of Ecuador, with the application of the model of entry to universities, implemented by the Senescyt during the period October 2016 - February 2017. The variables considered are: gender, change of major, professional aspirations, acquired knowledge, scholar repetition and agreement with the input system, academic performance, adaptation to the major, psychological orientation, exam preparation and order of the major options. In this study participated 384 men and 338 women. A survey was applied and the information was processed using the SPSS software.
