Abstract
Several studies cite recognition at work as a powerful motivator at work and more specifically intrinsic motivation. Following these studies, we wanted to verify this reality in the Congolese context given that the expectations of Congolese employees in terms of recognition from the employer are not often satisfied. Seeking to examine the nature of the relationship that exists between recognition practices at work and the intrinsic motivation of employees of Congolese commercial companies in the energy sector (the Water Distribution Board, the National Electricity Company and the National Hydrocarbons Company); We used the survey method supported by a scale of recognition at work and another of intrinsic motivation at work to collect data from a sample of 281 subjects.
