Abstract
This study aims to investigate the relationship between online game addiction and hopelessness levels in university students. Sociodemographic information form, Online Game Addiction Scale and Beck Hopelessness Scale were applied to 136 university students. In this study, differences in online game addiction and hopelessness scores were examined in terms of variables such as age, gender, grade point average(GPA), income level, types of online games, and the devices from which online games were accessed. In addition, age and online game addiction subscales as predictors of hopelessness were examined. According to the findings of the study, hopelessness and online game addiction levels differ significantly in terms of gender, GPA, income level, preferred online games and access devices.
