Abstract
Investigation of use of zeolite in improving the grain and stover yield of maize as well as soil physical and physico-chemical properties at the beginning and at the end of the experiment was done. Zeolite has significant effect on soil pH, EC, CEC. The highest soil pH, EC, CEC were recorded in Z7.5 followed by Z5. The zeolite application significantly reduced bulk density of soil. Zeolite @ 7.5 t ha-1 (Z7.5) recorded lowest bulk density (0.97 g cc-1 ). Zeolite significantly improved water holding capacity from 33.34 % in Z0 to 48.54 % in Z7.5. The combination of nitrogen and zeolite had no significant effect on bulk density and water holding capacity. There was no significant effect of zeolite, nitrogen and their combination on soil Organic Carbon.
