Abstract
The therapeutic efficacy of anti trypanosomal drug was evaluated by analysing the values of haemato-biochemical parameters betweennaturally infected equines with surra and non infected equines. Six microscopic positive (MHCT and Geimsa stained) equines were selectedfor the treatment of surra with Quinapyramine di-methylsulphate (Triquin, vetoquinol) @ 5.0 mg/kg body weight on day 0. For analyzing thetherapeutic efficacy of anti trypanosomal drug, the parasitological and haemato-biochemical parameters were estimated in the treatedgroup with an equivalent non- infected control group for comparative study on day 0 (pre-treatment) and day7 post-treatment. T. evansi wasnot observed microscopically on day 7 post treatment in treated animals.
