Abstract
The present investigation was conducted at experimental research farm of Agriculture Botany, College of Agriculture, Latur during rabi2019-2020 (Crossing) and rabi 2020-2021 (evaluation), with a view to study the heritability and expected genetic advance of two crosses,each having P1, P2, F1, F2, BC1 and BC2 generations in a randomized block design with two replications. In both the crosses for all the traitsunder study except oil content in both crosses and hull content in cross, JMU-1339 x EC-757665 exhibited high to moderate heritabilitycoupled with moderate genetic advance, which indicate that heritability of these traits were due to additive gene action. For improvement ofsuch traits selection will be rewarding. Low heritability coupled with moderate genetic advance was observed in both the crosses for oilcontent and in cross, JMU-1339 x EC-757665 for hull content, which indicates that little progress can be made in the improveme...
