Abstract
One hundred and seven rice genotypes were studied to assess the genetic diversity with regards to yield and yield component traits using Mahalanobis D2 statistics during Kharif 2017 at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Maruteru, Andhra Pradesh. The 107 rice genotypes were grouped into seven clusters. Ninety one genotypes were grouped in cluster I followed by five and seven genotypes each in cluster IV and cluster II respectively, one genotype each in cluster III, V, VI and VII. The pattern of distribution of genotypes into various clusters was observed to be at random with no relation to geographical diversity. Results on inter-cluster distances revealed maximum diversity between genotypes of cluster II and cluster III while intra-cluster distance was noticed to be maximum for cluster VI. Cluster VII had recorded higher cluster mean values for grain yield per plant, grains per panicle and panicle length. Further, the traits, nam...
