Abstract
Rice-wheat is the predominant cropping system of Punjab. To conclude one of the cost-effective sowing methods of wheat in the Ferozepur district of Punjab. Field experimentation was carried out with four different sowing methods in five locations counting incorporation, zero till drill and happy seeder. The utmost grain yield was found in incorporation (MB plough + disc harrow + rotavator) (53.20 q/ha), conventional method (52.47 q/ha) and happy seeder (52.60 q/ha) sowing method as compared to zero-till drill (51.10 q/ha). On the other hand, the ratio of benefit-cost was higher by happy seeder (2.52:1) as compared to zero tillage method (2.37:1), incorporation (MB plough + disc harrow + rotavator) (2.32:1) and conventional method (2.34:1). Superior benefits cost ratio of happy seeder was caused by its lower cost of cultivation as evaluate to the conventional method of wheat sowing. Better net return obtains by happy seeder Rs. 81998.4...
