Abstract
An experiment was conducted to study the changes in population of stem fly based on weather parameters. Changes in weather parameters leads to changes in population of insect pests. Stem fly causes damage to soybean crop by tunneling of stem portion leads to loss in yield. So minimum protection is needed to minimize the pest in initial crop growth stages. Hence study was done in protected and unprotected sowing of soybean. Per cent damage was more in unprotected plots as compared to protected plots during Kharif, 2018. The 60 per cent damage was more in second date of sowings in unprotected condition. Simple correlation studies revealed that there was significant effect of different weather parameters on incidence of stem fly of soybean
