Abstract
Ensuring the nutritional security besides food security is the demand for present era by providing nutrient rich staple food crop to undermine the malnutrition plight. Zinc and iron deficiencies have been reported for food-related primary health problem affecting nearly two billion people worldwide. Keeping this in mind, the present investigation was carried out to study the association of zinc and iron content with yield. Fifteen high zinc germplasm were tested to estimate association among zinc, iron, plot yield and other yield attributes. Correlation studies revealed that both iron and zinc content are positively and significantly correlated. Plot yield is significantly and positively correlated with biomass and negatively significant with zinc content and plant height. Thus selection for biomass may directly follow immediate yield improvement of wheat crop while increasing zinc content and plant height could have negative effects ...
