Abstract
Broiler production in Karnataka is progressively increasing in recent years. In the present study the growth of broiler meat production was analysed with help of polynomial and exponential regression models by utilizing nineteen years (1996-97 to 2014-15) secondary data. A steady increase in broiler meat production till the year 2013 and thereafter a rigorous increase was seen in Karnataka state. This growth is not uniform across all the districts of the state. Hence an attempt was made to construct statistical models separately by grouping the districts based on their production as well as administrative divisions. Various polynomial and exponential regression models were fitted and the best fitted model was selected based on Coefficient of determination (R2 ) and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) criterion.
