Abstract
Bhendi yellow vein mosaic virus (BYVMV) is characterized by a homogenous interwoven network of yellow vein enclosing islands of green tissues within its leaf. In extreme cases, infected leaves become yellowish or creamy colour. The virus has a monopartite genome consisting of DNA-A and DNA- β satellite. But the recombinations occurring within the genome of begomoviruses created difficulties to develop the resistance or effective tolerance against the whitefly transmitted BYVMV. The disease incidence were evaluated in nine genotypes of advanced varietal trial-I (AVT-I) and twelve genotypes of initial evaluation trial (IET) series. Among the nine genotypes of AVT-I trial series, Pusa Sawani was found utmost vulnerable to bhendi yellow vein mosaic percent disease index (PDI) was 81.7% with yield of 22.71 q/ha. 09/OKYV RES-1 showed PDI of 0% with highest yield of 83.08 q/ha. On the other hand, out of twelve genotypes of IVT, Pusa Saw...
