Abstract
The study of shifting in cropping pattern in different states of India is crucial as it provide evidences about the changes that are taking place in land use and for better agricultural development. The secondary data on area of different crops for major bajra cultivating states were compiled for the period 1997-98 to 2016-17 and analyzed using markov chain analysis.
