Abstract
A field experiment on cultivation of bamboo species was carried out on Agroforestry Research Farm, College of Agriculture, Nagpur (underDr. PDKV, Akola). Ten bamboo species were collected from Forest Research Institutes across the India and were planted under rainfedcondition at Nagpur. These species being investigated for their growth performance under cultivated fields since last five years. The culmheight, number of new tillers, totals number of tillers culm thickness, internodal length measured in field and was reported. Result showsthat the highest height (390.00 cm) was attended by Bambusa bamboosa and lowest height (105.00cm) was attended by Bambusa multiplexThe commercially important bamboo species Dendrocalmus stocksii as attended maximum height (385.00cm).
