Abstract
In recent years, a lot of awareness and concern have been developed over the environmental issues particularly regarding disposal of effluentsafter wet processing of textiles. The environmental problems associated with textile industry are mainly of water pollution caused due to thedischarge of untreated effluents. The use of non-allergic, non-toxic and eco-friendly textile auxiliaries has become a matter of significantimportance in order to avoid use of hazardous chemicals and synthetic dyes in textile industry. In the study attempts were made to replacethe use of synthetic material, which involves the use of chemicals with natural products in the processes of sizing, dyeing and printing. Useof 20-30% myrobalan as natural mordant was seemed to be best for mordanting textiles for dyeing and printing of textiles.
