Abstract
Salinity is one of the major threat faced by agriculture ecosystem which affects the plant growth. Groundnut is one of the important oilseedcrop, its yield is reduced due to salinity. In order to overcome the effect of salinity in an eco-friendly approach, the present study is undertakento identify the halotolerant plant growth promoting nodule endophytic bacteria. Ten groundnut nodule endophytes which was isolatedpreviously selected for their salt tolerance under 5% salt stressed condition of which Rhizobium phaseoli S18, Bacillus tequilensis NBB13have shown maximum growth. Plant Growth promoting activities like IAA, siderophore production and mineral solubilisation was tested.Out of the 10 isolates Rhizobium phaseoli S10R2 produced higher amount of IAA of 12.27
