Abstract
The field experiment was conducted during 2015-16 and 2016-17 at Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, to evaluate the effect ofplanting methods, spacing and intercrops on sugarcane. The experiment was laid out in split plot design with total 16 treatmentscombination with three replications. Among the planting methods, seedling raised in nursery tray and spacing 120 cm x 30 cm with sole cropof sugarcane recorded significantly higher cane yield. Sugarcane equivalent yield was significantly higher under the treatment of sugarcane+ onion intercropping. Seedling is used as planting method (M1) recorded maximum net return of Rs. 376055/ha with higher benefit costratio of 3.26, while plant spacing of 120 cm x 30 cm have recorded higher net return (Rs.385204/ha) with higher BC ratio (3.47) andsugarcane intercropped with onion (I1) has recorded higher net realization (Rs. 483530/ha) with BCR value (3.65).
