Abstract
Pulses are a principle source of dietary protein and also possess the property of maintaining and reinstate soil richness. They are excellentsources of proteins (20-40%), carbohydrates (50-60%) and are fairly good sources of thiamin, niacin, calcium, and iron. Thus, pulses playan important role in human diet. Pulse beetle, Callosobruchus chinensis Linnaeus is a serious damaging pest of the world. It attacks mainlythe pulses. Studies on the biology of pulse beetle infesting stored cowpea were conducted.
