Abstract
Moisture stress at reproductive stage will alter some of the quality characters of rice, either it may increase or decrease under drought. Inthe present investigation, upland rice cultivar Nagina22 and twelve drought tolerant mutants were raised in water stress & non-stresscondition and ten quality parameters were recorded. The results of analysis of variation showed that they had significant difference at 1%probability level under both stress and non stress condition. Mean comparison showed that there was an increase in grain length andbreadth, 1000 grain weight, linear elongation ratio and water uptake ratio under well watered condition. Increased milling %, hulling %,head rice recovery and breadth wise expansion ratio were observed under water deficit condition. Under stress condition, head ricerecovery showed positively significant correlation with hulling % and milling %. According to multivariate analysis, PC1 contributing trait...
