Abstract
In the present investigation, 30 cross combinations evolved from crossing six lines and five testers were evaluated for the extent of heterosisover standard checks for yield and its attributing traits, bran oil content and quality traits in rice (Oryza sativa L.) at three differentlocations viz., RARS, Jagtial, RARS, Warangal and ICAR-IISR, Hyderabad representing 3 agro-climatic zones of Telangana. Among 30cross combinations studied, Keshari? MTU1010, Mandhya Vijaya ? Swarna, Phalguna ? NDR359, Mandhya Vijaya ? NDR359, Phalguna ? Swarna and Kandagiri ? RPBio226 were identified as most promising cross combinations for yield and quality characters based on per seperformance and heterosis. However, based on per se performance coupled with optimum grain yield per plant, 5 cross combinations i.e.,Keshari ? IR64, Kandagiri ? RP Bio226, Keshari ? NDR359, Phalguna ? MTU1010 and Kandagiri ?
