Abstract
Fuzzy based decision support system for protective irrigation management was developed using MATLAB simulation tool. The fuzzy logicsystem (FLS) was calibrated and validated for year 2016 and 2017 respectively for protective irrigation management at Akola station. Thedeveloped FLS was tested with evapotranspiration and rainfall as input parameters and irrigation requirement as output parameter. Theinputs were fuzzified with Mamdani method by building the membership function for each input. Triangular membership function was usedfor fuzzifying the system variables and centroid method was used for defuzzification. The average protective irrigation requirement usingdata for 1997-2017 was simulated as nil over kharif season i.e. July to October for Akola station.
