Abstract
The field experiment was conducted at CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, during 2014-15 to study the agro-meteorologicalindices of barley varieties under different growing environments. During the rabi season of 2014-15, intermittent rainfall of 55.5 mm wasreceived from panicle initiation to harvesting stage and the unfavourable climatic conditions of rains and strong wind at the time of cropmaturity probably led to decline in the production and productivity (9.9%) over the previous year. The soil of the experimental field wassandy loam, with pH 8.2, available OC 0.38%, NPK (181, 14.2 and 375 kg ha-1). The experiment was laid out in split plot design with fourdates of sowing viz. 25th Oct.-5th Nov., 6th Nov.- 15th Nov., 16th Nov.- 25th Nov. and 26th Nov.-5th Dec. in main plots and four varieties in subplots (BH 902, RD 2552, DWRUB 52 and RD 2668). Highest grain yield (3664 kg ha-1) of barley was recorded in 15th Nov. sown crop...
