Abstract
Retailing is the significant part of the Indian economy. In the developing country like India, where the organized retail is penetrating fast,the private label is getting popular. The changing demographics and consumer preference, increase in income, urbanization and workingpopulation paying role of growth drivers? retail industry and private labels. The present study was conducted to study factors affectingbuying private label food products. To fulfill the objectives descriptive research design was employed and data from 100 respondents werecollected by using structured questionnaire. The study found that the 83 percent respondents prefer private label products and also purchasethem. Majority of respondents rate them as good. The trust, discount and same quality as branded products are three major factors affectingprivate label food products.
