Abstract
Field trial was conducted at Department of Entomology, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola during the Rabi season 2020-21. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with ten treatments including untreated control replicated thrice. The results revealed that application of Azadirachtin 01.00% EC proved most effective in minimizing Helicoverpa armigera larval population with mean number of 1.32 larvae/mrl and reduced pod damage of 1.83 per cent. However, maximum grain yield (12.72 q/ha) was harvested from the plots treated with Azadirachtin 01.00% EC and proved as the most economically viable treatment giving the highest ICBR of 1: 6.82. Thus this neem- based insecticide can be a good alternative for the management of chickpea pod borer, H.armigera showing resistance to different insecticides.
