Abstract
Improper unhealthy diet is a major causative factor for development of many diseases especially lifestyle disorders like obesity,cardiovascular disorders and many other non-communicable diseases. Junk food being unwholesome, replacing normal home-cooked dietand such lifestyle disorders mainly starting from certain issues in the digestion. The consumption of such unhealthy diet plays a key role inincreasing prevalence of such disorders globally. The present study was conducted in 2019-2020 at University campus of GujaratUniversity, Gujarat, India among the participants (n=195) representing the urban population. This study was conducted to find out if junkfood is a causative factor for development of Grahani dosha, an ayurvedic equivalent of imbalances occurring in the digestive system due toirregular diet and lifestyle habits.
