Abstract
An experiment was conducted for two consecutive years 2020-21 and 2021-22 at Sericulture Research Scheme, VNMKV, Parbhani andDepartment of Entomology, Dr. P D K V, Akola respectively to find out the most promising Bombyx mori L. hybrids as well as their parents forfive economic characters in silkworm viz. Larval weight (g), Single cocoon weight (g), Cocoon-Shell ratio (%),Cocoon filament length (m) andCocoon yield/10,000 larvae brushed (kg) under laboratory condition. The perusal of the data reveals that, among the six parents, CSR 5 foundsignificantly superior for all the five characters studied, followed by BL 67 and Hosa Mysore. However among the thirty F1 hybrids, thereciprocal cross CSR 5 x BL67 followed by cross BL67 x CSR 5, CSR 5 x Hosa Mysore and Hosa Mysore x CSR 5 were exhibiting high per seperformance for all these traits.
