Abstract
The present study was conducted in Southern districts of Karnataka during 2017 to know the relationship existing between personal, social,economic and psychological characteristics of IFS farmers with their Livelihood Security and IFS Efficiency. The investigation included 240SC farmers practicing IFS. The present investigation was undertaken in four agro-climatic zones of Southern Karnataka. From each zone onedistrict and from each district one taluk were selected purposively. From each taluk two villages and from each village 30 respondents wereselected randomly. The results revealed that the characteristics namely land holding, cropping pattern, livestock possession, innovativeness,extension participation, training undergone, willingness in agriculture, access to extension personnel and access to resources had positive andsignificant relationship with livelihood security and IFS efficiency at 0.01 per cent level of probability.
