Abstract
Abstract An experiment was carried out in the Department of Vegetable Science, Kalyanpur, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, during the Rabi season, 2010-2011. Garlic seed of the variety ‘Gujarat-50’ were sowing for the present investigation. Growth and plants judged in terms of height of the plants and numbers and size of leaves was recorded as successive stages. The study involved 4 level of nitrogen viz.; 0, 75, 100 and 125 kg nitrogen/ha and 4 level of sulphur 0, 20, 40 and 60 kg sulphur/ ha. The experiment consisted 16 treatment combinations and 3 replications in the randomized block design. The point of observation are Length of leaves, average weight of 10 cloves (g), Number of cloves per Bulb, Size of Bulb-Polar Diameter (cm), Size of Bulb-Equatorial diameter (cm), Total soluble solids (T.S.S. %), yield per Hectare (q).
