Abstract
Study was carried out on two hundred school going adolescents, aged between thirteen and seventeen years, selected randomly. Subjectswere studied for Physical activilty level and anthropometric measurements including height (cm), weight (kg), waist circumference (cm) andhip circumference (cm). BMI and Body fat per cent were measured using hand held fat monitor (Omron HBF-306 model). The mean PAL ofthe respondents indicated that the majority of the respondents from both the schools had sedentary lifestyle. The female students fromgovernment school and male students from private school were physically more active than their respective counterparts. Respondents fromprivate school were significantly (p=0.05) heavier with comparable height to government school respondents. The mean BMI of governmentschool respondents (18.8 kg/m2) was significantly (p=0.05) lower than that of private school respondents (20.58 kg/m2). Presence of dualmalnutr...
