Abstract
In this work, the development and implementation of a coder for a Voice over IP transmission system based on FPGA technology which has been carried out using simulations and a co-simulation with System Generator is presented. In order to achieve this, it was developed in simulation software the algorithm of the G.711 coder. The work was made using two different simulation softwares, and finally gets to the implementation of this coder in an FPGA. The results are validated through the coded signal in the three software tools.Keywords: coder, transmission, telecommunications, networks, voice, IP system, FPGA technology.
